JP Lease Products & Services Co., Ltd. (JLPS) is pleased to announce that it has arranged a Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO) transaction for one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft for Qatar Airways Group.
This transaction represents Qatar Airways Group’s inaugural JOLCO financing in the Japanese market, with HSBC acting as Debt Arranger and JLPS serving as Equity Arranger and Underwriter.
The transaction also constitutes the first deal under Qatar Airways Group’s newly established JOLCO program in Japan. JLPS is expected to continue serving as Equity Arranger for the series of transactions planned under the program, which will ultimately cover a total of seven aircraft.
Qatar Airways Group is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading airline groups, supported by a global network, a strong earnings base, and a highly regarded credit profile within the aviation finance market. This transaction supports the Group’s entry into the Japanese aircraft financing market and has attracted significant interest from Japanese investors.
The transaction further strengthens the longstanding relationship between Qatar Airways Group and JLPS and represents an important milestone that is expected to deepen the partnership and foster further collaborative business opportunities, including future transactions under the program.
For JLPS, this transaction also marks an important step in the continued expansion of its aircraft finance business. Going forward, JLPS will continue to support Qatar Airways Group’s growth strategy and diverse funding requirements through its strong partnership with the Group.
The transaction was recognized as the “Middle East & Africa Lease Deal of the Year” at the 2026 Airline Economics Middle East, Africa & Islamic Finance Aviation 100 Awards held in Dubai, reflecting its significance and impact on the aviation finance market across the Middle East and Africa region.
